Random Improvements

Here's a small list of improvements in today's build.

  1. Added crank sound everywhere
  2. Player idle animation
  3. Automatically starts auto-fire when undocking the crank
  4. Fixed the laser's range and sprite
  5. Old rat gives players several useful hints
  6. Increased start height of game over screen

We will most likely continue to release daily improvements while we wait for Panic to get back to us about our Playdate Catalog submission.

If anyone have info on how long the submission process lasts, please let me know.

Thanks,

-Silvermedal

loving the game. Catalog usually takes a week or two at least to get back to you as it goes into what's typically a large qeue. I personally would expect this to get in, but if not and you've made a bunch of changes in the meantime, you can always mention those to their team.

if/when you Do get in, my guess is it will still be a month or two til they have a spot for it, so you may have a good amount of time to dev and improve the game as you see fit. that's all just how it Typically goes, so just hang on. you should hear back after a bit.

so far as the game goes, i've enjoyed it a lot, but what is the path to upgrades? is it cheese-based, combo/score based or do i need to actually find them in the maze? the maze seems procgen, but it is coherent each time? as in, can i fully clear it out or will a door always lead to a new and filled room?

Thanks for the info on hearing back from the catalog, I was getting a little antsy.

As far as the game, the maze is procedurally generated and the cheese drops are random. The gun upgrades are only available after level completion currently, but I am considering changing that.

At its core, Mousegun is an arcade game, try and beat your high score and get on the global leaderboard. I heard that Panic will give you storage for rankings once your game gets approved.

Thanks again for the feedback.
